Cascade waterfall


In the beautiful gully Lumshory on Turytsya River (right branch of Turya River) there was formed cascade waterfall stipulated by erosion-resistant sand horizons (2-5 m) within flat-laying Paleogene flysch sequence. Total waterfall height exceeds 10 m. Downstream in the river banks some other small waterfalls can be observed along with continuous exposure of the fine-rhythmic flysch over more than 200 m.

The site is being visited by numerous tourists and campers and close there is recreation area.

Ecological conditions are suitable.

Accessible by motor-car. 600 m up from Lumshorska tourist centre by Turytsya River.

Legally the object as geological landmark is not defined yet.

It is suggested to give the status of geological regional-rank landmark.
