KREMENETS
The borders of three countries – Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia – meet at this mountain peak and a granite stele has been installed there to celebrate this fact. It is also the most northern point of Uzhanskyi National Nature Park and is one of five highest mountain peaks at 1121 m above sea level. There is a foresters hut at the bottom of the mountain. The slopes of the mountain are home to primeval beech forests, which are protected since 1908. In 1930s professor A.ZIatnik was studying these forests. In 2007 beech primeval forests of Kremenets mountain were included into the UNESCO World Heritage List.
