Gora Vysokiy Zamok (High Castle Mountain) is a part of the flat-top erosion remnant chain in the north-eastern portion of Lvivske Plateau.

Mountain flat-top (absolute height 413 m) is capped by 36 m high cone hump artificially strewn over in 1869-1900. Lower mountain part is composed of Maastrichtian marls (Lviv Suite, 70 Ma), and upper one — of Middle Miocene Badenian limestones (Opilska Suite, 14 Ma). The mountain has two clearly expressed structure terraces which surface is bounded by the layers of hard limestones of Opilska Suite.

The mountain is landscape impressive decoration. A number of historic events and legends are linked to the mountain from where there opens Lviv city panorama. This is the main place of all tourist excursions over Lviv city.

Access by Lviv streets. Ascent by walk-passes and stairs.

Legally the object is defined as part of landscape-historic reserve “Znesinnya”.
