Cascade waterfall

Geomorphologic.

The waterfall is located on south-western slopes of Polonyna Runa Mountain in highly impressive gully Shypot. In the stream course and its banks continuous exposure is observed. Erosion-resistant flat-lying Paleogene sandstones form one large and range of small (from 0,5 to 1,5 m) benches which cause cascade waterfall. Water falls with two strong streams from the height about 20 m.

This seldom for Ukrainian Carpathians waterfall is being visited by numerous tourists and nature fanciers.

Ecological conditions are suitable.

Accessible by motor-car from the road Svalyava – Perechyn. Walk 11,3 km up along Shypot River then 3,3 km up the left bank of Voevodyn Stream.

Legally the object as geological landmark is not defined yet.

It is suggested to give the status of geological regional-rank landmark.
